Video Shoot 7 - Fifth Stanza (Second Flashback)

Song stanza:
This is the flashback which comes before the scene of the last stanza and the end of the music video’s narrative. The stanza of the song we were shooting for is –

The storms are raging on the rolling sea
And on the highway of regret.
Though winds of change are throwing wild and free,
You ain't seen nothing like me yet.

Video:
This first video shoot was done, in Lisa’s house in her living room where the typical argument between a couple would happen. The video was done in Lisa’s house due to us starting the story board and planning the narrative of the music video together. We decided we could video the flashback of the argument and use Lisa’s living room which has a bright red wall to connote love and also anger, the situation in the flashback shows the couple’s love turning into anger and frustration. Lisa’s living room has a homely looking sofa which helps to make the living room appear like a cosy and snug household. 4 practice shoots were taken before we managed to video the final and accurate shoot for the scene.

Problems discovered:
We were planning to shoot the very first few scenes but we decided to do that another time so we could prepare a room so that it would fit with the mood of the narrative and song. Then we were hoping to shoot the scenes in town but it had become dark enough outside for us to cancel that idea. Due to the camera quality not turning out as it was expected and the new ideas on the scene, such as the camera shots and cuts, we decided to use this video as a practice shoot. We were testing if the amount of time for the acting that’s meant to happen in that scene fits in with the amount of time for that stanza. The video ended up being extremely shaky too which made it appear very unprofessional and rubbish.

Future planning:
We will improve and develop the video further, when we next film the scene again by adding cuts and different camera shots to the scene rather having the whole scene be continuously videoed. Also the timing of the actions with the each line in the stanza would be videoed to be more precise. The video ended up being extremely shaky too which made it appear very unprofessional and rubbish.
