Additional Props

I found 4 clear and viewable pictures of Jacob and Lisa, from past events where they’ve been present in the photos. Some pictures included other people therefore I had cropped them so only them two were visible. These pictures were deliberately chosen so that we could have them situated in the background in a photo frame. The images would have to be the type that an ordinary couple would considering having in a photo frame and placed somewhere in their house therefore the pictures wouldn’t be blurred, irrelevant and inappropriate.



This first image, although having both characters in the frame, is unconventional to the typical ‘couple’ type of framed picture. The setting can be clearly seen as a bowling isle, therefore the picture looks like a time were they’d gone out with perhaps family or friends. They’re both shown to be sat far apart from each other, Jacob appears distracted while Lisa is talking to him. The mood of the situation is not distinguished because both Lisa and Jacob don’t appear as thought they’ve either been having a pleasant time or whether they’d been arguing. A positive point about this image is the darkness in the background which contrasts against the couples face which is bright enough to be seen clearly therefore their love is highlighted by them being highlighted and they are shown to be together against the darkness, the connotation for this could be the rest of the world.

The second image is much more conventional that the first. Both characters and close together is a medium close up therefore only their facial expressions are in view. Lisa looks like she is more ready for the picture to be taken than Jacob, who looks unprepared. However Lisa also looks like she has been amused by something therefore the image is more of a joke type of picture than a loving one; however the image could still work and show they were an outgoing type of couple for framing that specific image.

This picture is the most unconventional due the image simply looking like both Lisa and Jacob are at a christmas party because of the decorations. However due to the ipod in Jacob's hand which could be mistaken for a phone, it looks they could be swapping numbers and getting to know each other for a drink. This picture doesnt exactly appear like a picture that would be framed because the type of pictures which are usually seen framed in a couples home is one that looks impressive and appealing and almost like it could be mistaken for a professional picture where the couple are smiling lovingly and posing for the camera. Due to this picture looking like Lisa and Jacob being unaware of the camera, it shows the image wasnt intentionally taken for the couples interest, also their movements at the time appear casual along with their clothing. This picture could work if they were the type of couple that were seen to be more out going which would probably lead to there being more pictures, of themselves in events and parties, used as additional props.

Chosen Image For The Additional Props
Out of the 4 pictures that I found have found one that includes both Lisa and Jacob in it. Me and Lisa have decided to use this image due to it looking like a more ‘couple’ type of picture. This picture is perfect because of the way they’re both smiling and cuddling, they’re both stood right beside each other whilst holding each other. The picture has been printed off and is prepared to be a prop which will sit in the background whilst the actions occur at the beginning of the narrative in the house (living room).

 

This is how I've used the image in our video. The picture was placed in a frame and put beside a little vase with flowers to show a feminine touch. During the very first scene of the narrative which is when Lisa is sat on her own in her living, the picture is seen beside her on the coffee table.
